Independence Day and Rock n Roll
Well, I made it back for my second post. I tried to get to it sooner, but I am still getting the hang of writing these :). It’s been a busy time of the year trying to balance summer activities and my shop, not to mention preparing for the baby, who will be here in seven weeks!
Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July! I love this time of year! Jackson is now three-years-old, so he is starting to really enjoy the festivities. We were able to take him to a parade, and he had a blast. He especially loved all the horses and the loud drums (of course!). Personally, it was a little rough, given the size of my belly and the hot temps:).
However, my husband and I were able to kick off the American holiday a little early; last weekend we went to a Tom Petty show. I have always wanted to see him and couldn’t pass up the opportunity, hugely pregnant or not!
The show was amazing and totally inspired me to put together a chic, glam, rock and roll nursery. The lead guitarist was wearing this amazing, black, velvet jacket with red trim and black/white scroll accents. I loved the color contrast and the shine of the electric guitars and all the lights. I wanted to bring those bold colors and that rock and roll vibe into a gender neutral nursery that could work for any hip baby:), boy or girl.
Since wallpaper is totally making a comeback now, I knew it would be the perfect backdrop to set the mood for this nursery. You can find this design and tons more at Design Your Wall. I really love all the custom art prints I found on Etsy and the Union Jack pillow is worth the splurge! Also, the curtains are a must; you can’t have rock and roll without red velvet! I just LOVE the prints in the crib set, the skulls are my favorite!
