Jackson turns 5!
I have to say I was a bit relieved when Jackson requested a party outside of our house this year! Until this year, all his party’s have been at home, with relatives, and a lot of cooking, cleaning, baking and decorating.
At first I was a little sad that I would be missing out on these things, but it turns out having his party at a local bowling alley/arcade was fabulous! All I had to bring was the cake and the favors. Just enough to be fun without the stress.
He chose a Lego theme, again (obsessed much?), so I had to get creative this year, since we just did this last year!
We went with The Lego Movie theme, and the cake was so much fun to do. My friend Samantha, over at Studio Sweets (all the way in CA!), provided the adorable mini figures and name plate, they totally made the cake! The rest was just a lot of fondant:)
I found the favor boxes on Etsy and couldn’t pas them up, PishPoshPartique even rushed them for me! Inside we added personalized mini figure bags, Lego crayons, and these awesome little rubber bracelets. You can get charms from almost any movie to put on them and the kids loved them! Oh, and we couldn’t forget the chocolate covered oreo!
Overall, a fabulous party and not too much work. I would call that a success!
Oh, if you missed it, here are the highlights from last year, some great party ideas!
