Pink & Gold Mid Century Modern Nursery
Yay! I finally put the finishing touches on Kenzie’s baby girl nursery and am so excited to share with everyone:) If you know me you know I have been waiting for a baby GIRL for a very long time. I knew her nursery would have to feature a lot of pink, but I did NOT want your traditional pink frilly nursery. My baby girl needed lots of color, lots of shine and a little classic rock and roll thrown in for good measure!
I started with the crib set (obviously!) and wanted a design which was not overly girly so I could play around with some fun colors….so yes, it is very pink but the retro geometric prints keep it from being over the top. To stay with the retro feel I added fun nursery art prints with classic rock lyrics.
Of course I couldn’t resist a touch a Mid Century Modern, which you can see mostly in the rocking chair corner….the Eames rocker, a DIY vintage side table and the gold dipped vintage milk glass vases. Also, needed some ‘Sputnik-esque’ touches as seen in the mirrors and chandelier. Oh and how adorable are the vintage blocks I painted gold?!
So I basically took my love of retro and combined a little of the past with some modern touches and tied it all together with pops of shiny gold for my little star!
